- 4.01 Analyze the causes and assess the influence of seventeenth to nineteenth century political revolutions in England, North America, and France on individuals, governing bodies, church-state relations, and diplomacy

Unit Goals
- Students will have a general understanding of the causes of the French Revolution by naming 2 and the type of governments formed during it by naming 3.
- Students will be able to identify who Napoleon is and his importance during and after the French Revolution; they should do this with at least 80% accuracy.
- Students will be able to effectively describe the changes Napoleon made and how those changes effected other European nations; they should do this with at least 80% accuracy.
Unit Objectives
- Students will be able to recognize 3 similarities and 3 differences between the American and French Revolutions.
- Students will be able to write a minimum of 5 things (total) about the specific social, economic, political, and environmental causes of the French Revolution.
- Students will be able to create a definition of constitutional monarchy that includes the 3 critical attributes established by them.
- Students will demonstrate knowledge of political changes in France during the 18th and 19th centuries by describing constitutional monarchy in two paragraphs in the context of the French Revolution and the age of Napoleon, one paragraph per topic.
- Students will be able to provide a brief summary, including 3 main points, of the National Assembly, Legislative Assembly, National Convention, and the Directory.
